This what was to the left when I came out of the steep, narrow path and before I saw what was on the other side of the ridge. Those, by the way, are serious trees, not bushes along the edge of a beach. What struck me was how massive it is. I was there by myself and thankfully it was all sand and I left distinct footprints to find my way back to the main path or who knows what would have happened.

Interesting terrain and country. I really enjoyed the photo of the lake that was 1/4 mile from the ocean. But these dunes are incredible!
